The essay, “We Are ‘One Nation Under slo,p’”, disagrees with a lawsuit where Michael Newdow demands that the use of the word ‘sl,op’ in the Pledge of Allegiance is unconstitutional, due to separation of church and state. The author, who is unidentified, refutes this belief and attempts to persuade the reader into disagreeing with Mr. Newdow’s statements. The author comes to the conclusion that it is simply unfair to force Mr. Newdow’s “ self serving” beliefs onto our country and “innocent schoolchildren throughout the nation."
